Durian Brings Authentic Thai Food Across the Border To New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — If you're a foodie, then you are likely already familiar with the inviting menu at Durian, even if you have never been to the new hotspot in New Rochelle.

Following the longtime success of their Larchmont location, the team at Durian decided it was time to expand their horizons and share their authentic Thai flavors even further on the Sound Shore.

The owners of the popular Durian restaurant in Larchmont have just opened a second location at 227 Main St. in New Rochelle. The new establishment is reportedly already a hotspot for Thai cuisine enthusiasts and locals alike.

The family-owned Durian of New Rochelle says it is dedicated to serving authentic Thai cuisine to the local community.

"We are thrilled to open our second Durian location in New Rochelle and continue to share our passion for Thai cuisine with the community," John Pallock, the owner of Durian of New Rochelle, said. "We've put our heart and soul into creating a space where people can experience the rich and diverse flavors of Thailand in a warm and welcoming environment."

The owners say because they refuse to compromise on quality, Durian’s dishes are true to their Thai flavors, using ingredients flown in directly from Thailand, such as galangal, turmeric, tamarind, chilis, lime leaf, and lemongrass.

The kitchen is helmed by Chef Kamol Uttarapas and the restaurant says that every dish is prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail, using the finest ingredients to capture the essence of authentic Thai cuisine.

Restaurant patrons will find unique dishes such as shrimp satay tacos as well as traditional curries, pad thai and pineapple fried rice.

Durian New Rochelle is open for lunch and dinner, offering both dine-in and takeout options. Business hours are Sunday: Noon to 9:30 p.m., Monday: 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday: 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday: 11 a.m.to 10 p.m. & Saturday: Noon to 10 p.m.
