Snowflakes, 'Very Strong' Winds in the Forecast for New Rochelle

The National Weather Service's latest forecast includes something for every season—all within a week.

Only in the Hudson Valley can we go from a forecast in the 60s with sunshine on Thursday to the possibility of thunderstorms late Thursday and Friday, and then see a couple of upcoming chances for some snowflakes, too.

Mother Nature continues to ensure predictably by always being unpredictable.

The National Weather Service has already issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for most of the Hudson Valley for Saturday night into Sunday morning, Dutchess and Ulster counties not included.

“A strong cold front passage Saturday evening will bring unseasonably cold air to the region on very strong northwesterly winds. Wind gusts behind the front of 50 to 60 mph are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning,” the weather service said.

For Wednesday, we are looking at sunny skies and with highs nearing 60. Winds will be light and variable.

Temperatures will dip into the low-40s Wednesday night before rebounding to the mid- to high-60s on Thursday.

It will be mostly sunny during the day Thursday, but rain is likely Thursday night into Friday, when thunderstorms will be possible.

Did we mention snow earlier? Yes, we did.

As of now, the National Weather Service is calling for a 30-percent chance of snow Saturday night into Sunday. The combination of unseasonably cold air and precipitation makes it possible. We will keep you posted on that.
