Uncooperative Man At Bronx ER Reports Being Stabbed In Westchester

The "not fully cooperating" patient told NYPD investigators that his serious injuries occurred at a North Avenue bar in New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A stabbing victim at a Bronx hospital told NYPD that the altercation that injured him took place in a New Rochelle sports bar, but he wasn't in a cooperative mood when New Rochelle detectives arrived, according to authorities.

On Sunday, shortly before 6 a.m., New Rochelle police were told by the NYPD that a 41-year-old stabbing victim was at a Bronx hospital claiming that he had been stabbed in New Rochelle at Lit Sports Lounge and Grill on North Avenue.

The injuries were deemed "serious, but not life threatening." New Rochelle detectives went to the Bronx to meet with the victim who ended up not fully cooperating with them, according to officials. Meanwhile, patrol officers and detectives went to Lit Sports Lounge and Grill and were able to find a small crime scene outside the bar.

NRPD said the investigation remains active and detectives are developing leads and are asking that anyone with information about the stabbing call the New Rochelle Police Department at 914-654- 2300.
