Weekend Weather for New Rochelle

After back-to-back weekends that flirted with the s-word (snow) and numerous recent freeze watches, just reading this should put you in a sunny disposition.

"A very exciting few days of weather lie ahead of us, Hudson Valley," says Bill Potter from Hudson Valley Weather. "That’s because we’re going to get a large high pressure to camp out over the Northeast. That high pressure will protect us from a storm out over the ocean, and keep it to our south. That high pressure will also keep the clouds banished from the Hudson Valley for the most part. And that high pressure… will also help our temperatures to steadily climb each day… until we’re in the 70s by Sunday."

Temperatures this weekend should surpass the chilly highs from last weekend by 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit, said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.

Here’s a detailed look at the weekend forecast for southern Westchester County via the National Weather Service:

• Today: Sunny, with a high near 62. Northeast wind around 7 mph.
• Tonight: Clear, with a low around 40. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight.
• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 63. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.
• Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 42. North wind 5 to 7 mph.
• Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 69. North wind around 8 mph.
• Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 47.
