Westchester Hit-And-Run Leaves 21-Year-Old Man Dead, Car Found

YONKERS, NY — A hit-and-run crash left a pedestrian dead. Police say details about the tragic circumstances are coming into focus.

At around 4 p.m. on Monday, the Yonkers Police Department got a report of a crash in which a pedestrian had been struck on Van Cortlandt Park Avenue.

First responders found a 21-year-old man who had been severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital, but later died. Police are not releasing the victim's identity until family is notified.

The vehicle involved in this incident left the scene before police arrived, but was located in a neighboring county later in the evening by detectives.
