Long Island Destination Named No. 1 Romantic Spot in New York

A New York tourism website that lists the top 10 most romantic spots in the state says you won't have to travel far for a romantic getaway. The site named a Long Island destination the No. 1 most romantic spot in New York.

Old Westbury Gardens beat out popular attractions like The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, Niagara Falls and the Empire State Building's observation decks to get the top spot, according to New York Only.

The website tells you the best times to make the trip:

Open every day except Tuesdays from now until October 31st, you can visit the gardens anytime between 10AM and 5PM. From November 1st until the 22nd the gardens remain open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM until 4PM. So, what makes this place so romantic? If you've yet to take a visit you'll be happy to know that the property covers 160-acres of land, featuring a historic house you can tour and gardens that will steal your breath away. Spending the day strolling through the gardens is the perfect way to spend some time with someone you love!

Old Westbury Gardens is located at 71 Old Westbury Road in Westbury.

Cost for entry is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (over 62), $7 for children ages 7-17 and $10 for students with ID.
