Shanghai-Style Speakeasy To Open Under Ramen Joint In Flushing

QUEENS – A below-ground speakeasy is opening under a ramen restaurant in Flushing this month.

Below Shaku, located at 156-30 Northern Blvd, will open under Shaku Ramen on Dec. 15, serving sake drinks champagne and soju drinks.

Below Shaku’s entry point is through a flight of kitchen stairs where customers will find an underground lounge.

Below Shaku has a 25-seating capacity and is open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, while Shaku Ramen’s hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.
