The Gardens at Beds & Borders

Learn how to dye cotton and silk fabrics at a whimsical garden venue!
We will forage for flowers, then explore bundle and pounding dye methods on a variety of cotton and silk pieces (scarves, bandanas, tops, etc). You can expect to go home with at least one hand dyed piece!
Feel free to bring your own pieces, too (Aim for 100% cotton, silk or linen)
Light refreshments will be served

*This is a Sound only event, I do not lead anyone through talking.
6:30 pm sharp start time. No late entry.
4 inch thick Futon, Blanket and Eye Mask will be provided.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Bring a pillow if you need one&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
In sessions I use around 18 Therapy grade, deeper toned and tuned Tibetan metal Bowls, 2 25 inch deep tone&nbsp;Gongs, Sea &amp; Frame Drums, Crystal Pyramid and other instruments which when struck by a series of mallets, direct different frequencies of sound waves through the body.
Benefits: Muscles &amp; Fascia relax and unwind, Mental chatter quiets, Inflammation disperses, Blood &amp; Lymph flow are uninhibited, Meridian &amp; Energy Systems clear &amp; balance, Altered states of consciousness can occur.

Jamesport Meeting House

The 1731 Jamesport Meeting House will host a free illustrated lecture entitled, “Jamesport: 300+ Years of History,” on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jamesport Meeting House, 1590 Main Rd. (Route 25), in Jamesport. The lecture, by local historian, Richard Wines, will present the area’s history going back to the indigenous peoples who inhabited the area before the first European settlers arrived in the early 1600s. Mr. Wines will explain how the area was previously part of Southold, called Aquebogue, and how the hamlet came to be renamed Jamesport. He will share fascinating facts about the hamlet’s brief service as a whaling port in the 1830s, the hamlet’s allure as a vacation destination beginning in the 1840s with the onset of rail travel, and amusing tidbits that will make for fun trivia knowledge.

NOLA 2 NOFO presents Donald Harrison Jr's Quantum Leap Music Festival (Day One)

Jamesport Meeting House will host a Historic Jamesport House Tour on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring 16 incredible homes of historical and architectural significance in Jamesport and South Jamesport. Tour homes include some of the first houses built in the new port in the 1830s, as well as those erected later in the 19th century and more recent residences designed by well-known local architects. Architectural styles range from Victorian gothic in a former Methodist campground, to Greek revival, Italianate and even mid-century modern. The homes on the tour are located within three-quarters of a mile of each other and tour patrons are encouraged to walk or bike the tour, as on-street parking is limited. The tour will start at the historic 1731 Jamesport Meeting House, the oldest public building on the East End. The Meeting House is located at 1590 Main Rd. (Route 25), in Jamesport. Tour tickets are $60 per person in advance and $75 on the tour day. Proceeds from the tour will benefit the nonprofit Jamesport Meeting House Preservation Trust, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that owns and maintains the building. Local restaurants and wineries will be supporting the House Tour benefit by donating a portion of the proceeds from tour patrons’ purchases to the Jamesport Meeting House.
