Carriage House Players Open Shakespeare Fest with ‘Macbeth’

The Summer Shakespeare Festival is kicking off this summer with a thrilling performance of 'Macbeth'.

The Carriage House Players are going to open the 29th annual Summer Shakespeare Festival with a performance of Macbeth at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport. The event will take place outdoors at the Vanderbilt Mansion courtyard stage. Performances of Macbeth are going to be held each Wednesday and Friday at 8 pm and every Sunday at 7 pm through July 30th. In the tragedy Macbeth, the Scottish general receives a prophecy that he will become King of Scotland from three witches. Encouraged by his wife, the ambitious Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes over the Scottish throne himself only later to become tortured by guilt and paranoia.
