New Riverhead Board of Education Members and Leadership

Murphy and Redmond Join Board as Palmer and Connelly Assume Different Roles

RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK (JULY 2023) — The Riverhead Central School District Board of Education welcomed its new members and leadership changes at its recent reorganization meeting. Incumbent Board of Education trustee Virginia Healy, who was re-elected in May, was sworn in, as were new members Erica Murphy and Cynthia Redmond.

“We are looking forward to the spirit and direction that our 2023-2024 Board members will bring to the District,” said Riverhead Central School District Superintendent Dr. Augustine E. Tornatore. “Each member of our Board of Education brings unique strengths and skills to the table, and we are eager to incorporate all the positives that our new members Ms. Murphy and Ms. Redmond will add in the Board’s ongoing efforts to support and enhance our District.”

The Riverhead Central School District Board of Education also has a new President and Vice President. Previous Vice President Colin Palmer now serves as Board of Education President, and Brian Connelly has shifted his role from President to Vice President.

“Mr. Connelly and Mr. Palmer served our community well as Board of Education President and Vice President, respectively,” said Dr. Tornatore. “The District looks forward to the success they will continue to achieve in their new roles and the distinct approach each will bring to their position.”
