New Show, 'The Agitators' Set To Debut At Vail-Leavitt Music Hall

"The Agitators" portrays the true story of the lifelong friendship between Frederick Douglass and Susan B Anthony.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Live theater is back on the East End after a two-year pandemic pause and soon, the curtain will rise on a new show by Boots on the Ground Theater.

According to founder and director Bonnie Grice, "The Agitators" is set to debut at the historic Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead, running from April 8 to April 17.

"The Agitators", Grice said, is the true story of the lifelong friendship between Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony.

"They agitated the nation and each other for five decades. It's a beautiful story of these two legends as friends and real human beings, with all the angst and flaws," she said.

The Vail Leavitt Music Hall is located at 18 Peconic Avenue in Riverhead ."We're taking our boots on the road for this one! And we're super excited," Grice said.

Grice stars in the show along with Justin Harris and Eugene Hamilton. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased here.
