Unofficial Primary Results: See Who Won East End Races

Only 5 primary races were waged across Long Island Tuesday. See who emerged the winners.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters on the East End headed to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in four primaries. Here's who won their races and will move ahead to the November election, according to the unofficial results.

In Suffolk's 1st Legislative District, a primary was waged on the GOP line between Catherine Stark of Riverhead and Greg Williams of Mattituck, who were vying for the seat currently held by Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski. Krupski, a Democrat, who has served as a legislator for the area since 2013, will be running in November for the Southold Town supervisor's seat after longtime Supervisor Scott Russell takes his leave.

According to unofficial results Stark took the lead and won the race with 1,350 votes; Williams had 810 votes, and there were six write-in votes, with all districts reported.

Stark, who was the Suffolk County Republican Committee's choice, previously served as an aide in Krupski's office and has worked in county government for two decades.

Her opponent Williams previously served as a Southold Town trustee, threw his hat into the ring for a Southold Town board seat in 2021, and owns a bicycle shop in Mattituck.

Stark will run against Catherine Kent, the Democratic candidate and former Riverhead Town councilwoman, in the November race.

Shelter Island

Democratic candidates Arnott G. Gooding and Gerard F. Siller waged a primary for the town supervisor's seat. According to unofficial results, Gooding won the race with 261 votes; Siller garnered 128, with no districts yet to be reported.

Also on Shelter Island, three Democratic candidates, Albert K. Dickson, Benjamin Dyett, and Robert Waife waged a primary to run for town board. According to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections, Dyett received 285 votes, Dickson had 276 votes, and Waife, 140, with all districts reported.

Southampton Town

There was primary race for a spot on the Working Families Party line in Southampton Town, with John Ortiz and Gary Weber both hoping to run for town justice.

Weber emerged the winner, with 9 votes; Ortiz received 1 vote; all districts had been counted.

The East End primaries were the only primaries on Long Island Tuesday except for a Long Beach race.
