Special Weather Statement Issued For East End

Be careful if you are out on the roads this morning.

The National Weather Service has issued the follow special weather statement for the East End:

Residual low-level moisture from the rainfall on Saturday coupled with localized temperatures around freezing, may result in patchy black ice on area roadways and walkways. This risk will remain until around 8 am.

The full forecast:

Sunday- Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Breezy, with a west wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.

Sunday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 22. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. North wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Monday - Increasing clouds, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. North wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night- A slight chance of rain and snow between 11pm and 2am, then rain likely. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 38 by 5am. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday- Rain likely, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday Night- A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Wednesday- Partly sunny, with a high near 43.
