BREAKING: The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Long Island.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Sunday for Long Island.

The advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m until noon. Snow, sleet and freezing rain will likely lead to hazardous conditions on the roadways, the NWS says.

Snow and sleet accumulations of up to 1 inch are possible, along with up to a few hundredths of an inch of ice.

A hazardous weather outlook has also been issued for late Sunday night into Monday for winds that could gust up to 55 mph on Long Island.

Saturday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind around 7 mph.

Sunday- Rain, freezing rain, and sleet likely before noon, then rain and snow between noon and 1pm, then rain after 1pm. High near 39. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. North wind 8 to 15 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday Night- Rain likely before 1am, then a chance of rain and snow between 1am and 2am, then a chance of snow after 2am. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Breezy, with a north wind 7 to 12 mph becoming west 17 to 22 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday- A 20 percent chance of snow before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Windy, with a northwest wind 25 to 30 mph increasing to 31 to 36 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.

Monday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 25. Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.

Tuesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 37.
