Woman Crashes Through Window Into Riverhead Business: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — A woman crashed her vehicle into a Riverhead store early Saturday, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, the crash took place at 6:45 a.m. at Trailer City on Old Country Road, near the traffic circle.

Monique Smith, 44, of Mt. Vernon, backed through a large window and was completely inside the building, police said. She was incoherent and unable to explain to officers what had happened, police said.

The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and took Smith to Peconic Bay Medical Center for a medical evaluation, police said.
