Early Morning Intruder Armed With Gun Demanded Homeowner's Valuables

Hastings-on-Hudson police reminded residents to "always be vigilant in keeping their homes and vehicles locked and secured."

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON — A homeowner was surprised by an early morning intruder, according to police, who say that, as of now, the suspect eluded capture.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department is investigating the early morning burglary of a home on Broadway. The suspect, described as a man, 5'9, wearing all black, was armed with a handgun and demanded money and jewelry from the victim.

No injuries were reported.

Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect.

"To protect the investigation's integrity and respect the victim's privacy, no other information can be released now," the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department said in an alert. "In addition, the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department reminds residents to always be vigilant in keeping their homes and vehicles locked and secured."
