Pair Arrested In Armed Robbery Of Chase Bank In Ardsley

ARDSLEY, NY — A manhunt for bank robbery suspects meant security measures at some Westchester schools.

Chief Anthony Piccolino, of the Ardsley Police Department, said that shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, police received a call from Chase Security about a "hold up" alarm at the Chase Bank located on Saw Mill River Rd. in Ardsley.

Officers quickly arrived on the scene and discovered that a robbery had just taken place. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a firearm.

Two suspects, a man and a woman, were apprehended at the Ardsley-on-Hudson train station in Irvington.

Chief Piccolino said that the case has been turned over to the FBI.

He also thanked the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and RTC, the New York State Police, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Greenburgh Police Department, the Dobbs Ferry Police Department, the Irvington Police Department, the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department, and the MTA Police Department.

According to media reports, schools in Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson were placed in lockdowns, while security was increased at Ardsley High School.
