  1. $250K settlement reached between Suffolk and a Holtsville man who sued the county after he dragged a police officer during a traffic stop and was shot, Newsday reported. "Suffolk County has admitted no wrongdoing and Michael Shear, 39, has agreed to release all claims related to his 2018 lawsuit, according to court papers signed by U.S. District Court Judge Frederic Block on Monday, the outlet reported. Shear alleged excessive force by four officers when he was tasered, shot in the shoulder, punched, kicked, and hit with a baton after a traffic stop that he bolted from and led police on a chase in 2017, according to the outlet."(Sachem Patch)
  2. MacArthur Airport back on schedule after delays due to FAA outage. The outage grounded flights throughout the United States on Wednesday. Domestic flights were paused until 9 a.m. Wednesday and an Islip Town spokeswoman said, "We sympathize with our airport customers. If you have a flight today, please check with your airline before heading to the airport." (Sachem Patch)
