  1. AA Holbrook man faces elevated drug charges in connection with selling Lake Grove woman deadly fentanyl. Jaquan Casserly, 34, has been accused of selling the drug to the woman last year, causing her to die at Stony Brook University Hospital days after she was revived from an overdose, according to prosecutors. The woman's phone was turned over to police and they set up an undercover buy with Casserly and arrested him after searching his home. (Sachem Patch)
  2. A Selden woman was sentenced to two to six years in prison for pilfering over $340,000 from a family-owned business. Leslie Mroz, 39, was employed by a Medford company from February 2016 through February 2019, where she handled payroll as the manager of human resources. During that time, Mroz manipulated her salary and benefits paying herself more than double she was authorized. “This defendant wasted no time abusing the trust that her employer placed in her by stealing from her employer,” Suffolk County DA Ray Tierney said. “She will now face justice and serve prison time for her greed.” (Sachem Patch)
  3. Warmer weather is ahead this weekend. It will be a beautiful weekend here in the Sachem area, with temperatures in the 50s and sunny skies. We hope you enjoy the weather, and we will catch you tomorrow! (Weather.com)
