  1. Hempstead man swipes over $40k worth of products from Long Island Walmart stores. Jonathan Sunderland, 34, was found and arrested following a joint investigation by 4th, 6h and 7th squad detectives at Morris County Jail in New Jersey where he was held on similar charges brought by the Boonton Township Police Department, according to police. Sunderland stole over $25,000 worth of jewelry from the Walmart in Centereach on Nov. 6. He also stole over $16,000 worth of jewelry from the Walmart in Islandia back in Sept. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Selden man indicted on sexual abuse and sexual conduct charges from over 20 years ago. Between 1997 and 2002, Robert Lynch, 66, subjected three children, who were then between the ages of 7 and 13, to ongoing sexual abuse at his home on Hawkins Road, prosecutors said. “These victims, who are now between the ages of 24 and 35, found the courage to come forward and describe the horrific abuse that they endured as children at the hands of a grown man,” said Ray Tierney, the district attorney. “My prosecutors will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that child abusers are held responsible for their actions, no matter when these actions occurred.” (Sachem Patch)
