  1. More mild weather is forecasted this week. Whether you have the week off or you are working, it will be a fairly pleasant week of weather to enjoy. Monday is our pick of the week with temperatures in the mid 50s and sunny skies. Thursday morning brings the only chance of rain and by Friday, temperatures will drop into the 40s with wind gusts making it feel colder. (Weather.com)
  2. ICYMI: Contamination was found in groundwater at Long Island MacArthur Airport. The airport was designated as a state superfund site after the confirmation of high levels of polyfluoroalkyl substance contamination in groundwater. The DEC will take action to investigate the extent of the contamination and protect the public's health and safety. (Sachem Patch)
  3. ICYMI: Sachem Central School District high schools pull student survey after concerns from the community. The survey was given to 10th grade health students to assess high-risk behaviors, asking questions about sexual activity, sexual preference and how students felt about their weight. "The survey is anonymous and optional and informs the district of areas in which they can assist their students with available resources for support as needed. It has come to our attention that the survey included a few questions that raised concerns amongst some community members," Sachem school superintendent Pellettierri told Patch. "As a result, the district pulled the survey, which is currently under review." (Sachem Patch)
