Here are the top three stories in Sachem today:

  1. Ronkonkoma Chamber Of Commerce's Tree Lighting to feature appearance from Santa Claus. The free event will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Raynor Park on Dec. 4. There will be live entertainment by the Cherokee Street and Nokomis elementary school choirs, along with a raffle. (Sachem Patch)
  2. The 5th annual Thanksgiving Pie Morning fundraiser for the needy set for Thursday. It's hosted by the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce and will be at Flanagan's pub. There will be apple, cherry, and blueberry pies from the Premiere Pastry Shop in Lake Ronkonkoma. The donations will be given to local residents who need a little extra help this year. (Sachem Patch)
  3. Holbrook man stuck and killed in hit-and-run Sunday. The incident happened on Veterans Memorial Highway early Sunday morning just before 6:45 a.m. A passing motorist called 911 reporting a body on the side of the road and police found 59-year-old Alan Lepre, of Holbrook. He was declared dead at the scene and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Sachem Patch)
