Here are the top three stories in Sachem today:

  1. Infant bitten by Pitbull in Farmingville. The 1-year-old child was bitten on Saturday at a location on Oaklawn Avenue and taken to an area hospital for a laceration. No further details have been released. (Sachem Patch)
  2. Sachem North ranked second best cheerleading squad on Long Island. Last year the team won the Suffolk title and moved on to win the 2022 NYSPHSAA championship in Small Varsity Division I. This year they compete in the Large Varsity Division I category in the state and began the year with two first-place meet finishes. (Subscription: Newsday)
  3. 'Things Remembered' closing all Long Island stores. The closures started in November when the store closed its Walt Whitman location, and now all stores will be closed permanently. Things Remembered was a staple of Long Island malls, and the store has also shut down its website. (News 12 New Jersey)

Today in Sachem:
