🌈Pride Respect🌈

Just amatter of respect to all individuals and friends celebrating pride month and the choice to live and love with humanity and dignity.

Our grandparents were extremely open minded individuals. For years we heard the story from our father, of a family friend of his parents in the 1920's who was gay and fell in love with another woman, a Polish immigrant, like herself. Her lover's husband threatened to turn these gentle souls to the police and deportation. As a result, the Polish immigrant committed suicide, leaving an infant son.

Thankfully, we have come a long way to embrace the LGBT community. However, there are  still prejudice and mean minded individuals.

Hopefully, this June will be only kindness and acceptance and a time to spread joy and love.

Our cousin, a prominent lawyer in London and the first Vicerory to India under Queen Victoria, brought the writer Oscar Wilde to trial for being homosexual.

We only hope ,today ,his points of views would be different, as it is just a matter of human respect.
