Join us this coming Saturday, September 14th, 10AM-4PM on the Setauket Village Green and the Caroline Episcopal Church property (Main St &amp; Dyke Rd, Setauket across from Emma S. Clark Library) for the Annual Country Fair! Over 70 Arts, Crafts and Gifts Vendors, Barn Sale, Christmas, Housewares, Food Court, Baked Goods, Basket Raffle, and Live Music. Last Chance Animal Rescue will also be there hoping that some of their fur babies will find homes! Boats on premise compliments of Great Oak Marina! 

Bring your family for a fun day in beautiful, historic Setauket. Proceeds are used to support our ever-growing Food Pantry and community outreach ministries. Rain date September 21st. For more information please call Caroline Episcopal Church at 631-941-4245.

Dancing IS For Every Body
 Dance Movement Classes for Adults&nbsp;at The BATES HOUSE

Do you feel the urge to dance? Did you take modern or ballet classes when you were younger? Come back to the dance floor and move your body to contemporary music with April Masten. No knowledge of technique required.
Class format: traditional dance class format with standing and floor warm-ups and stretches; across-the-floor steps and moves; and a combination that we will learn and dance together
Class schedule:
Tuesdays 9:45-10:45AM (join any day)
First class free / thereafter by donation 
Bring a mat for floorwork and a water bottle for hydration
Location: The Bates House in Frank Melville Memorial Park, Setauket, NY (at the end of Bates Road–up the little hill behind the woodshed across from Emma Clark Library)
Teacher bio: April is in her sixties. She teaches history at Stony Brook University (where she makes her students dance). She started dancing in high school in California; studied modern, ballet, and ethnic dance in college; and taught dance and aerobic exercise for 20+ years before becoming an historian. April knows from experience that people around her age are an underserved dancing community! Come and dance with her!

Why Dance? It’s a happy way to get some exercise. Moving in different ways helps you stay flexible. It strengthens your mind/body connection. It’s great for relieving stress. Human beings were made to dance! 
We want YOU! No matter your age or shape! We are not trying to become professional dancers, just happy, strong, graceful movers. Don’t think of how you used to dance, think of what you can do now!

Interested in trying baton twirling and joining a new sport this year? Join TNT Twirlers for a FREE baton twirling class and open house to give twirling a try! Our free trial class will take place Wednesday 9/18/24 from 6:45-7:45pm at Norwood Elementary School. Ages 3+ are welcome, no twirling experience is needed, and we supply the batons! 
As we start the new school year, this is a great way to introduce your child to the amazing sport of baton twirling for free!
 TNT Twirlers is a non-profit youth organization that offers recreation and competition teams in Eastern Suffolk County! We offer beginner classes Monday-Thursday from October to May with opportunities to perform in local parades, recitals, and competitions. In-person registration will be available at the free class! The Atelier at Flowerfield

The Atelier at Flowerfield offers “Van Gogh in Auvers: 1890”, a FREE online lecture presented by Thomas Germano, Professor of Art and Art History at Farmingdale State College/SUNY on Wednesday, September 18th at 7PM.

Vincent Van Gogh spent the last two months of his life in Auvers-sur-Oise, FR before his death in July, 1890. He was at his most prolific period in this last residence and some of his best works come from this brief 70 day period when the artist produced 74 paintings and 33 drawings, including some iconic works. Paintings such as “Crows Over A Wheatfield,” “Tree Roots”, “Daubigny’s Garden,” “Church at Auvers,” “View of Auvers-sur-Oise,” and multiple “Portraits of Dr. Gachet” were created in Auvers.
This lecture will focus exclusively on the prolific creative burst of life and energy Van Gogh demonstrated just prior to his death at age 37.
Thomas Germano is a Full professor of Art and Art History at Farmingdale State College/SUNY. He also teaches a Graduate Seminar at the New York Academy of Art, NYC and before the international health crisis, taught an annual class alternating in studio painting and Renaissance Art History in Florence, Roma and Lucca, Italy. He holds an MFA in Painting from Yale University and a BFA from Cornell University, concentrating in painting and minoring in art history.
Professor Germano has exhibited his artwork frequently throughout the US and Europe, is a published author and a frequent presenter of art lectures throughout the NYC and Long Island areas.
