Dems Hold Large Lead In Abington School Board, But Many More Votes To Tally

Democrats had a large lead heading into the overnight hours in Abington, but many precincts had not yet reported.

ABINGTON, PA — Democrats held a commanding lead in the Abington School Board race heading into the midnight hour late Tuesday, but there remain many votes left to tally.

The vote totals in the favor of the left also include all of the mail-in ballots, which are typically heavily Democratic. So it stands to reason that the GOP could make some dent in the gap.

Here's where things stood late Tuesday with 25 of 39 of the township's precincts reporting:

ABINGTON, PA — Polls have closed, and results are coming in for the Abington School Board and several other local races. Check back with Patch throughout the night as results tallies and other updates are provided.

The presidential election is a year away, but the results of Tuesday night's local races in the Abington area and across Pennsylvania will play a key role in the state's future. They'll also important insight into the political landscape of a swing state that could determine the balance of power in the executive and legislative branches next fall.

Results will be considered unofficial until all votes, including those cast via mail and in ballot drop boxes, have been counted.

With an increase in voting by mail, official results likely won't be available for a few days.
