Timoney Knox Welcomes Five New Attorneys

Five Montgomery County attorneys joined the Fort Washington-based firm.

Fort Washington-based Timoney Knox, LLP has expanded the law firm with the recent additions of attorneys: Bernard F. Siergiej of Ambler , Dawn N. Cohen, of Plymouth Meeting, Thomas J. McTear, of Plymouth Meeting, Andrew W. Knox, of Glenside, and Emily K. Christian of Wynnewood.

Siergiej is of counsel to the firm, and focuses his practice in the areas of wills, trusts, estate administration, taxes and real estate.

Cohen and McTear are members of the firm’s Insurance Industry group and focus their practice on insurance and commercial litigation.

Knox is a member of the Litigation Department and concentrates his practice on education, trust and estates litigation, as well as civil litigation, personal injury and medical malpractice.

Christian is an associate in the Wills, Trusts and Estates group and focuses her practice on estate planning and special needs trusts.

Siergiej, while maintaining an active law practice, has been and continues to be involved with several civic organizations and active in the law community. He was recently re-elected as President of the Act II Playhouse located in Ambler. Siergiej has served as executive director of the Montgomery County Bar Association and a member of the Desmond J. McTighe Inn of Court. He was recently honored by the Montgomery County Bar Association for over 50 years of membership.

Prior to joining the firm, Cohen practiced commercial litigation in Philadelphia and served as an intern to the Honorable Gregory M. Sleet, United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. She graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University, where she served as the Business Editor for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal.

Before joining the firm, McTear, whose background includes litigating a variety of subrogation and defense matters, served as a law clerk to the Honorable Albert J. Cepparulo of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. He graduated magna cum laude from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he served as Managing Editor of the Touro International Law Review.

While working full-time, Knox attended the evening division of Widener University School of Law. He is following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, grandfather, father and uncle in practicing law. He is included in the Best Lawyers in America® in 2018 for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, as well as being named a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in the area of Medical Malpractice in 2018.

Prior to joining the firm, Christian worked as an attorney at a law firm in Philadelphia where she focused her practice on complex commercial litigation, business litigation and trust and estates litigation. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from Boston University and received her Juris Doctor and her Master of Laws in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law. During law school, she interned at the legal department of a large truck leasing company where she handled various contract, real estate, employment and environmental matters.
