Pet Adoptions Heat Up This Summer At Bensalem Shelter

Women's Animal Center has found "furever" homes for almost 100 pets in July.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Lily now has a new home.

Formerly known as JoJo, Lily is one of many pets adopted from the Women's Animal Center in Bensalem Township. The shelter's pets up for adoption are featured in a weekly Patch series that runs every Friday.

Officials at the center reported that July was a hot month for pet adoptions, just falling oen shy of 100.

During July, the shelter shared that 99 shelter pets found loving forever homes.

They included 76 cats, 18 dogs, and five small pets (three rabbits and two guinea pigs)

For June, 102 pets were adopted: 72 cats, 24 dogs, and six small pets.

"We are truly grateful to all of our amazing adopters who open up their hearts and homes to a shelter pet," the shelter said in a Facebook post. "We're excited to see all these new families created. To bring unconditional love into your home, visit the Women's Animal Center."
