Man Charged In Gunpoint Robbery At 7-11 Store In Lower Southampton

Police said a Philadelphia man is behind bars. He held up the 7-11 store

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Lower Southampton Township Police have arrested a Philadelphia man who pointed a gun at a 7-11 employee during a robbery.

Police are charging Christopher Yelverton, 42, of Philadelphia, for the robbery in early May in which he showed a note demanding money from the convenience store worker at 2:51 a.m. at the 7-11 on 1952 Brownsville Rd.

He is charged with robbery, theft, persons not to possess firearms, terrorist threats, and related charges.

Yelverton was arraigned and is currently incarcerated at Bucks County Prison with bail at $75,000 with 10 percent. Police had issued a warrant recently for his arrest.

Police said he lifted up his shirt to expose the firearm in his waistband and demanded the employee remove the cash from the register. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money and Newport cigarettes.
