Arson Probe Underway After Fire At Abandoned Delco Farm School

Pennsylvania State Police said the June 16 fire at the abandoned Sleighton Farm School in Edgmont Township is believed to be arson.

EDGMONT TOWNSHIP, PA — Pennsylvania State Police have launched an arson investigation after a mid-June fire at an abandoned Delaware County farm school.

The fire broke out at about 10:13 p.m. June 16 at the abandoned Sleighton Farm School in Edgmont Township, state police said.

Edgmont and Rocky Run firefighters were called to the property at that time and date for a report of a fire, and first responders found heavy fire coming from the roof of the old dormitory building.

Police said through an investigation, they determined the fire started in the first floor of the building.

Due to the building being abandoned, it did not have electrical services, leading investigators to determine the fire was intentionally set.
