MEDIA, PA — In an effort to keep Delaware County residents suffering from substance abuse disorder alive, the Delaware County Health Department is hosting a life-saving Delco Revive training at the Middletown Free Library Friday.

The training will teach librarians from 12 different county libraries to administer Narcan nasal spray to people experiencing opioid overdoses.

They will also receive "Stop the Bleed" training, according to the department.

The Delco Revive program provides residents, organizations, schools, and businesses with access
to free life-saving resources — such as Narcan nasal spray, Xylazine test strips, Fentanyl test strips, and wound care kits.

This program also provides Narcan Nasal Spray, American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR, and Stop the Bleed training.

The department's partner in the Delco Revive initiative is Delaware County’s own "Blue Army" Medical Reserve Corps.

Delco Revive is a program coordinated by the Delaware County Health Department. It is supported in part through monies distributed by Delaware County’s Opioid Settlement Fund.
