5 Veterans To Be Given Final Salute At Washington Crossing Cemetery

Veterans and members of the public are invited to take part in a committal service at the cemetery on June 27.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — The cremains of five Delaware Valley veterans will be laid to rest at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Thursday, June 27 during an unaccompanied veterans service.

The cemetery invites veterans, veteran organizations, and members of the public to attend and to offer a final salute for the formerly unclaimed veterans.

All vehicles and motorcycles are invited to participate in a short escort for these veterans from the Washington Crossing National Cemetery Administration Building to the Committal Shelter. Please line up in the cortege lane before 2 p.m. or gather at the shelter for the service.

At the committal shelter, a short ceremony will be held, including the playing of Taps, final salutes, and the folding and presentation of the flag.

  • Doris Heaton, PFC, U.S. Army - Air Force - Montgomery County World War II Vet
  • Gary L. Johnson, YNSN, U.S. Navy - New Jersey
  • Sallie L. Lawhorn, SP5, U.S. Army - Philadelphia
  • Vincent R. Jordan, St, U.S. Air Force - Delaware

The Washington Crossing National Cemetery is located on Highland Road at Route 532 in Upper Makefield Township.
