Blue Point Grill Brings A Taste Of The Sea To Newtown Township

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The wait is over. The Blue Point Grill has officially opened its doors at the Newtown Shopping Center at 3 West Road.

The family-owned seafood restaurant, offering 18 different varieties of oysters and a menu swimming with fresh catches, is located inside the former Corner Bakery Cafe building, which has undergone a complete renovation over the past six months.

“The day is finally here! We are officially open for service,” the Princeton-based eatery announced on Facebook. “Reservations are strongly recommended … We are so excited and looking forward to serving you.”

For the first few weeks of operation, restaurant operators said they would be limiting seating and would be closed on Monday “to ensure our staff is trained and ready to be the best we can for Newtown!”

The Blue Point Grill opened its doors in 1999 on Nassau Street in Princeton where it has built a reputation for its extensive selection of impeccably fresh seafood served in a fun, lively family atmosphere.

“We’re really excited to be in Newtown,” said owner Jack Morrison, who operates the Blue Point Grill in Princeton along with the Witherspoon Grill, Kristine’s, and the Nassau Street Seafood & Produce Co. “Through our commitment to sustainable practices, we bring fresh fish and seafood to you directly.”

Blue Point’s menu is swimming with fresh seafood, including 18 different varieties of East and West Coast oysters; soups and salads including New England clam chowder, Maine lobster bisque, and Rhode Island Crab and Clam soup; and 25 different kinds of fresh fish and classics such as
lump crab cakes, jumbo shrimp, Costa Rican Tilapia, Grilled Carolina Rainbow Trout, Barnegat Bluefish, Cape Ann Cod, Atlantic Salmon, and more.

“We only offer the freshest catches available, thus our menu changes daily,” says the restaurant.

Appetizers range in price from $10 for Portuguese sardines and smoked tuna pate to $18 for grilled Portuguese octopus and $20 for crab and guacamole dip.

Entrees come with a choice of baked potato, garlic smashed, wild rice, baked sweet potato, french fries, and sweet smashed and range from $28 for grilled Carolina rainbow trout to $46 for whole bone-in bronzini.

Other entree offerings include Florida red snapper, Costa Rican yellowfin tuna, Gulf of Maine lemon sole, surf and turf, and more.

The menu also includes a number of pasta and meat dishes including clams and garlic pasta, shrimp scampi pasta, braised short ribs and gravy, and twin four-ounce filet mignon.
