Camp NAC, Coronavirus-Free All Summer, Pivots To Enrichment

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Athletic Club’s summer camp program remained coronavirus-free all summer, club representatives shared in an update this week. The Newtown Township-based camp served approximately 600 children from June to August.

Camp NAC followed safety standards from Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and local government and avoided cases throughout the duration of the camp, representatives shared.

“This summer, we found that a safe, social atmosphere was essential to help some children gain confidence and find their footing again. It was our mission to provide children with structured, extracurricular activities where they are engaged with their peers and have emotional support," Camp NAC Director Brianne Feinour said in an update.

Camp NAC is now offering a new School Enrichment Program for students attending virtual learning through their districts. The on-site School Enrichment Program will supplement what the schools offer.

The in-person enrichment program is for grade-school students ages 6 to 18 years old. It's held weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Full week or two and three day options are available. Students at the NAC enrichment program enrolled are grouped with other students in their district, school and grade.

The Council Rock School District, like most in the region, has started school fully virtual for September. An option for part-time in-person instruction will be introduced later in the month.
