Celebrate Chocolate Chip Cookie Day By Benefiting A Newtown Nonprofit

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The public is invited to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by picking up a bag of homemade cookies at the Newtown Hardware House on Sunday, August 4 while benefiting a Newtown Borough-based nonprofit.

For the past decade, store owners Bill and Meg Newell have donated a percentage from each bag of their homemade cookies sold to "A Love for Life," a nonprofit funding pancreatic cancer research. The cookies are made in small batches in a certified kitchen and are available at the shop for pick up or nationwide delivery.

“We are so thankful to our friends Bill and Meg not just for saving our favorite local hardware store from extinction but also for their generous and community-oriented spirit," said A Love for Life President Christine Edmonds. “With our annual Jingle Mingle holiday shopping event every November and thousands of dozens of cookies sold, we have been able to donate a lot of money to the pancreatic cancer researchers at Penn.”

Regarding National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, Edmonds adds that although it is technically Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, there are other varieties of cookies available as well, with the sale of each benefiting A Love For Life.
