Cooking Oil Stolen, 4 Arrested For Suspected DUI: Newtown Twp. Police

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between June 1 and June 6:

June 1

  • At approximately 2:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence. The driver refused to submit to a blood draw for chemical testing. Charges are pending.

June 2

  • At approximately 9:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Pilot for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department and transferred without incident.

June 3

  • At approximately 3:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Edge driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Washington Crossing and Stoopville roads. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
  • At approximately 6:30 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Pilot driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the 200 block of Stoopville Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

June 6

  • At approximately 11:15 a.m. police were dispatched for the report of a cooking oil theft. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • At approximately 1:30 p.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at Ulta Beauty in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
