DUI Arrests, Lululemon Thefts Lead Newtown Township Police Report

The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 19 and 24.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 19 and 24:

April 19

  • At approximately 12:47 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Toyota truck for committing a vehicle code violation at Swamp Road and Linden Avenue. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

April 20

  • At approximately 1:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Toyota SUV for committing a vehicle code violation at the Newtown Bypass and Sycamore Street. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
  • At approximately 5:49 p.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at the Lululemon store in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • At approximately 9:37 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Pontiac sedan for committing a vehicle code violation at the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence and a male passenger was arrested.

April 21

  • At approximately 3:58 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Nissan sedan for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Sycamore Street. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence and the operator and a male passenger were arrested.

April 22

  • At approximately 3:57 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Pilot for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Illinois and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility pending extradition.

April 24

  • At approximately 9:47 a.m. a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a theft from a vehicle. The theft occurred sometime during the previous day. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • At approximately 2:38 p.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at the Lululemon store at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The investigation is ongoing.
  • At approximately 11:14 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of an Audi SUV operator for committing a vehicle code violation at Sycamore Street and Durham Road. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
