Historic Newtown Theatre Announces Christmas Concert Lineup

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will be filled with Christmas music in December. Tickets for all of the theatre’s concerts can be found at TheNewtownTheatre.com. This year’s holiday concert lineup includes:

• “Christmas with the Rat Pack” – Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. sing their greatest hits and a selection of Christmas classics. Sponsored by Damian “The Realtor that Rocks” Gioia at Opus Elite RE .
• “A Motown Christmas” – Two shows – Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3 and 8 p.m. This concert will feature a special mix of Motown and Stax holiday classics, 60s soul hits, and B-sides by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Otis Redding, Al Green, Gladys Knight and many more.
• “Illuminated Classical Christmas Concert” – Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. This one-of-a-kind concert will be illuminated by hundreds of elegant white lights and feature the Newtown Chamber Orchestra playing well-known classical works and some well-known holiday songs. Sponsored by Johnson Kendall & Johnson .
• “Yesterday Once More: A Tribute to the Carpenters Christmas Special” – Thursday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. A tribute show that captures a true Carpenter’s concert experience. In addition to some Christmas songs, this show features timeless tunes such as Close to You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Top of the World and many more.
• “A Very Valli Holiday” – Two shows – Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3 and 8 p.m. Hailed as the nation’s No. 1 tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Lights Out sings all of Valli’s hits along with everyone’s favorite holiday classics.
• “A Very Jazzy Christmas” – Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. An all-star lineup of area jazz musicians will play jazz versions of holiday classics.
• “A Slambovian Christmas” – Saturday, Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. The Slambovian Circus of Dreams’ music has been described as “psychedelic folk Americana with an Alice in Wonderland vibe.” At their Newtown show, expect Christmas songs with a Slambovian twist and rockin’ original seasonal tunes for a fun, outside-the-box holiday show.
