DOYLESTOWN, PA — The search is on for the next menu-worthy pie at Jules Thin Crust Pizza.

After a five year absence, the Bucks County-based pizzeria is bringing back its pie contest in 2023 and will be accepting ideas from the public for the next two months beginning March 1 and ending May 1.

"Do you love coming into Jules and creating your own custom pies? Is there any special pie you've been dying to see on the menu? Now is your chance to share your creations with us," said Brynne Camburn, Lovebird Group Director.

According to Camburn, contestants can either enter an idea for a pie (provide your ingredients and a name if you'd like) or submit their own recipe.

One thing to consider. The pie must be nut-free and healthy, said Camburn.

The ultimate winner will receive a $1,000 Jules Thin Crust gift card and become a Jules Forever VIP. In addition, their winning pie will be added to the Jules menu.

To help get those creative ideas flowing, a few of the past winners have included: "Julie's Beet Pie," the "Big Apple" and the "Chickpea Watercress."

Regular customers may also be familiar with "Kim's Pie" (balsamic barbecue chicken, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, chives and mozzarella cheese) and "Honey Sriracha," both of which were past winners. They are still among the eatery's most popular pizzas.

After the deadline ends for submissions, it will take about a month for the managers and staff to whip the ideas into pizza pies. A board of judges consisting of past winners and food critics will then pick a winner following a taste-off. The taste-off is expected to happen sometime this summer.

"It's a fun contest," said Camburn. "It's cool to see customers get a say as to what's on our menu."

Submissions should be sent to [email protected]. Entries will be accepted between March 1 and May 1, 2023.

Jules Thin Crust has seven locations: Doylestown, Newtown, Princeton, Wayne, Ardmore, North Wales and Jenkintown.
