Newtown Easter Egg Hunt Canceled Due To Coronavirus

NEWTOWN, PA — Several upcoming events planned by the Newtown Business Association, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, have been canceled due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

"Out of an abundance of caution for public health and to help mitigate any potential for the spread of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, we have decided to cancel a number of upcoming events," the association said.

The following events are canceled:

  • March NBA Monthly Breakfast - March 26
  • April Business Card Exchange - April 1
  • NBA’s annual Easter Egg Hunt - April 4

"We will continue to monitor information from local and federal officials regarding the COVID-19 virus as we consider the status of other events planned for the remainder of the year," the association said in an announcement.

As of Thursday, Pennsylvania has 185 cases of the virus and one person had died.
