NEWTOWN, PA — Newtown's newest taco and margarita spot has now officially opened its doors, as of a ribbon-cutting celebration Friday.

Bucks County commissioner Bob Harvie and Newtown Township supervisor Dennis Fisher got to try their first bites of the food at Bomba Taco + Bar after a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening.

Other local dignitaries and community members came together to kick off the grand opening weekend, too.

“Bomba offers a welcoming place to come together and celebrate life and family,” Bomba founder Andy Himmel said. “We know that Newtown is all about community, and we can’t wait to be the restaurant that provides that adventurous escape anytime, whether it’s for a night out with friends or a quick bite to eat during the week with your family.”

The Pennsylvania and Ohio restaurant spot named for the Puerto Rican music and dance genre offers lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and happy hour.

"We are committed to serving the highest quality ingredients with a focus on sourcing responsibly," Bomba wrote in an online mission statement. "Whenever possible, our farms raise their animals humanely without the use of antibiotics or added hormones."

In its search for the perfect taco, Bomba offers a variety of unique options such as the Lucha Libre starring chorizo and goat cheese and the Korean Surf ‘n’ Turf with Bulgogi beef, dragon shrimp, and kale kimchi.

In addition to tacos, bowls, soups, salads, guacamole, salsa, and a range of starters, the restaurant features an extensive drink menu with tequila, bourbon, and rum as the starting points.

The restaurant's signature cocktails include the Brazilian Mule, Bomba Rum Punch, and Lion’s Tail, featuring house made purees and quality spirits and liquors. Bomba also offers a Margarita Trio which allows customers to experience three housemade flavors in a margarita flight.

Bomba will also open an all-season outdoor space with heaters this spring, for a year-round escape.

Customers can download the Bomba Social Club app to earn points and perks like free tacos each month, and can stay up-to-date on the latest from Bomba by following on Instagram or online.

The restaurant's Newtown location will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Village at Newtown at 2930 South Eagle Rd.
