NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —It will be night and day for PECO's natural gas main project along the Newtown Township-Lower Makefield Township border.

The lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. have been ongoing on Route 332 at Lindenhurst Road since the project started last month.

Work will now shift to Lindenhurst Road with the road closure scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the remainder of the project, requiring a detour for the daily road closure.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, officials said.

Lindenhurst Road forms the boundary between Lower Makefield and Newtown Township.

For a four-week window, Lindenhurst Road will close completely. Additional details about the closure will be communicated in advance.

PECO work crews are installing nearly 9,000 feet of steel natural gas main along the roadway to upgrade its distribution system for customers in Lower Makefield and Newtown townships.

PECO said construction will begin at the Newtown Bypass and will require lane closures or a detour for the entirety of the project.
