Road Closures Announced In Advance Of Newtown's Shamrock Shuffle

In advance of Saturday's Shamrock Shuffle, the Newtown Borough Police Department has announced temporary road closures in the borough.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — In advance of Saturday's Shamrock Shuffle, the Newtown Borough Police Department has announced temporary road closures in the borough on Saturday morning starting at 7 a.m.

Road Closures include:

  • North State between Washington Avenue and Greene Street will close at 7 a.m. for event setup in front of Borough Hall.
  • North State Street (Washington Avenue to Edgeboro Drive) 8:30 a.m.
  • Greene Street (North State to North Congress) 8:30 a.m.
  • Edgeboro Drive (North State to Linton Hill Road) 8:30 a.m.
  • Frost Lane (Edgeboro Drive to North Lincoln Avenue) 8:30 a.m.
  • Jefferson Street (North Sycamore to North Lincoln) 8:30 a.m.
  • Liberty Street (Washington Avenue to Jefferson) 8:30 a.m.
  • North Congress (Washington Avenue to Frost Lane) 8:30 a.m.
  • North Chancellor (Washington Avenue to Frost Lane) 8:30 a.m.
  • Federal Lane
  • Jefferson Street at North Sycamore Street 8:30 a.m.

Parking Restrictions:

  • No parking on North State between Washington Avenue and Greene Street will go into effect at 6 a.m. for event setup.
  • No overnight parking in the Newtown Borough Hall parking lot located at 23 North State

Additional information

Any person participating in the event should follow their Shamrock information packet. There is no parking along the race route.

The Shamrock Shuffle 5K begins at 9 a.m. Registration and start/finish line are located at Newtown Borough Hall, 23 North State Street, Newtown 18940. For event information and parking, visit www.newtownshamrockshuffle.com

If you live on the 5K route (see course map below), consider alternate routes and allow extra time for traveling. Local businesses will be open for business and the police department will assist as much as possible to
help with traveling in Newtown. Police will reopen the roads as soon as all participants are safely across the finish line.
