UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Several roads in the township remain closed this morning following an early week storm that drenched the area in about three inches of rain.

According to police, River Road between Jonathan Way and Francisco's on the River remains closed due to standing water and debris.

Lurgan Road between Brooks Bend and Bowman's Tower also remains closed due to a pole and wires across the roadway. "PECO has been out, but we do not have a time frame yet as to when they will complete the work," said police.

Police are also reporting that numerous motorists continue to ignore road closed signs in the township.

"This is very disappointing," said police. "So, once again, we ask that you remember the road closures are in place for your safety. Unless you like hefty fines, we suggest finding that alternate route."
