Vehicle Stolen, Burglary Reported: Newtown Township Police Report

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 26 and May 1:

April 26

  • At approximately 2:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Impala driver for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. As a result of the investigation, drug equipment was discovered and seized as evidence, and a male passenger was arrested in connection.

  • At approximately 10 a.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a stolen vehicle. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

April 29

  • Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 1:30 p.m. for a theft report. The resident explained that her package was delivered empty. The resident did not suffer a monetary loss because the company agreed to send a replacement.
  • At approximately 3:15 p.m. police were dispatched for the report of a theft from a gym locker. The investigation is ongoing.

April 30

  • At approximately 12:15 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a burglary not-in-progress. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • At approximately 5:15 p.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at Ulta Beauty. The investigation is ongoing.

May 1

  • The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive in Newtown Township. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield. During the detail, eight trucks were stopped and inspected and three warnings were issued for violations that were found.
  • At approximately 1 p.m. police were dispatched for a retail theft at Ulta Beauty. The investigation is ongoing.

Looking Ahead

The Bucks County Police Memorial Committee will hold its annual Police Week Memorial Service on Monday, May 20 beginning at 7 p.m. at Saint Andrew Church, Swamp Road, Newtown. The ceremony will begin with a procession of honor including police officers, deputy sheriffs, and state troopers. The service will honor the police officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in protecting and serving their communities.
