Wrightstown Farmers Market To Scoop Up Free Ice Cream Sundaes

Saturday's market will also feature a butter-making session for kids, Jules Thin Crust Pizza Truck, and a harvest of fresh produce.

WRIGHTSTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, the Wrightstown Farmers Market will hold a giant ice cream sundae-making event on Saturday, July 19 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The event will be led by the Dairy Maid of the Bucks County Dairy Promotion Association with free Tanners ice cream - and toppings - for everyone.

"Be there by 10:30 a.m. sharp or arrive a little later for ice cream soup," farm market organizers said.

Saturday's farmer's market takes place on the grounds of the Middletown Grange Fair on Penns Park Road from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In addition to ice cream, the day's market will feature a visit with Sugar Maple Jerseys' newest members, calves Peppermint Patty and Lolita, and samples of some of their delicious 100 percent grass fed dairy products. And kids will be invited to make their own butter with the 4H Club.

Saturday's pop-up vendor will feature the Jules Thin Crust Pizza Food Truck serving breakfast and lunch pizzas. And free musical entertainment will be provided by Jim Monaghan.

This weekend's fresh offerings are expected to include: blueberries, peaches, cantaloupes, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, Asian eggplant, eggplant, local corn, peppers, shishito peppers, new potatoes, cauliflower, fennel, green beans, cucumbers, summer squash, fresh garlic, celery, Swiss chard, dandelion greens, scallions, and spring onions.

Also Napa cabbage, cabbage, beets (red and golden), carrots, escarole, kohlrabi, kale. hearty greens, living lettuce (seven varieties), super salad, lettuce, red and green head lettuce, salad green mixes, broccoli shoots, heart-healthy micros, flower power salad mix, pea shoots, Herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, chives, oregano, basil, dill) and much more.
