ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Traveling on McKnight Road is about to become difficult for the next three weekends.

PennDOT announced Tuesday that lane closures will occur in the city of Pittsburgh, Ross and McCandless Friday evening July 12 through Monday morning July 15. The traffic restrictions will be in place in each direction between Nelson Run Road and Braulich Drive from 7 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday.

The lane closures will be in effect for the two weekends after this one as crews repair the bridge that carries McKnight over the Evergreen Road/Babcock Boulevard interchange and make concrete repairs to McKnight.

Motorists will have access to businesses while the lanes are closed.

The work is part of a $27 million McKnight Road improvement project. Before work concludes next spring, restrictions also will include a 12-day closure of the Nelson Run Road interchange, two weekend closures at the Venture Street intersection, and several overnight ramp closures for paving operations and structure repairs.
