PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA — The local school board race that saw national attention has gone to the Democrats.

The Perkiomen Valley School Board race was tighter than others in the area, which went largely to Democrats, but it was still swept by the left in a campaign that became a cultural battleground.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA — Polls have closed, and results are coming in for the Perkiomen Valley School Board and several other local races. Check back with Patch throughout the night as results tallies and other updates are provided.

The presidential election is a year away, but the results of Tuesday night's local races in the Norristown area and across Pennsylvania will play a key role in the state's future. They'll also important insight into the political landscape of a swing state that could determine the balance of power in the executive and legislative branches next fall.

Results will be considered unofficial until all votes, including those cast via mail and in ballot drop boxes, have been counted.

With an increase in voting by mail, official results likely won't be available for a few days.

The Perkiomen Valley School Board, enraptured in controversy over its bathroom policy and stance on transgender rights, has 10 candidates vying for five open seats.
