2nd Suspect In Custody After 7 Shot In North Philadelphia In June

PHILADELPHIA — A second suspect in a mid-June shooting that hurt seven people is in police custody.

Khalif Duren, 23, of Philadelphia, had a preliminary arraignment on seven counts of attempted murder and aggravated assault in connection with the June 19 shooting on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street.

He is scheduled for a July 24 preliminary hearing, court records show.

Tyheed Harvey, 23, of Philadelphia, was charged just a few days after the shooting with attempted murder, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, and related offenses, police said.

Still sought is Amirah Square, 20.

The shooting occurred at about 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 on the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street, police said.

Shot were two men, 19 and 23 years old, and five women, ages 16, 18, 29, 31, and 47.

Six of the victims were taken to Temple Hospital, where they are in stable condition. The 16-year-old was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital, where she is in stable condition, police said.

Police found 17 shell casings at the scene of the shooting.

Square is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 110 to 115 pounds.
