PressurePerfect Massage Unsung Hero Award for July!

Thomas Merton once said: “"Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real." If that is true, you don’t get any real-er than Keith Burress.

In his work and his free time, Keith has always given back to the community, but most people probably don’t know that. Why? Because Keith never talks about his contributions. As his colleagues say: Keith just continues to quietly serve.

By day, Keith is the Director of Project ONE for Family Services of Chester County, where he oversees the case management program for HIV-positive individuals in Chester County in need of medical care, counseling, mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, food, and housing. In his free time, Keith is on the Board of Directors of Orion Communities, a local non-profit that assists individuals and families dealing with poverty, illness and disabilities. Keith is also the past president of Orion.

Keith is also currently a member of The Community Coalition, H.U.B. of Hope, and the Council on Affordable Housing. Recently, he became a board member of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation. And in the past, he has been a board member of The Philadelphia AIDS Consortium and the African American Health and Wellness Fair. Impressive service resume for one person, right?

That’s Keith Burress: One humble person, quietly & consistently showing us all how to be real. And that is why he is our Unsung Hero for the month.

If you know someone who gives above and beyond without asking to be recognized, please let us know ([email protected]). We will add that person's name to our monthly Unsung Hero drawing. The person chosen will get a free a massage--just a small token of gratitude for being nice from everyone at PressurePerfect Massage.
